I'm an assistant professor at {Technische Universität Braunschweig} (Brunswick, Germany), working on environmental fluid mechanics and urban hydrology. Before that, from 2018 to 2021, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the {Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory}, California, USA, where I developed multiresolution meshing strategies and other workflows for integrated hydrology simulations. In the beginning of 2018, I worked on computational disaster management at the {RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science} in Kobe, Japan. From 2012 to 2018, I worked on multi-scale modeling techniques for hydrodynamics at my alma mater, the {Technische Universität Berlin}.

I was born in Berlin, but grew up in an Aegean fishing village—{Urla, Izmir}. Perhaps that's why I like to study water and wind. I currently live with the love of my life, {Anna}, in Los Angeles, California. We are happily married since 2017.
